This work expresses through geometry my love of movement and color. A principal focus is on the optical qualities of color. A surrounding yellow or red can influence orange just as purple can be affected by red or blue. The interaction of colors is most important. The use of complimentary colors creates an especially intense "push/pull" effect. Artwork with black, white and grays can produce a strong sense of action. The works of Seurat and Albers have been instrumental in inspiring my work. Integration and balance play a role in the inherent meditative quality of the art. The multiple parts increase the potential for further alignments. Through the introduction of choice, visual possibilities expand.
